Synopsis
The ship find another Ancients ship that is almost identical to Destiny, and could provide them with the means to return to Earth.
Full Recap
Destiny approaches the object they’ve detected as more crew gather on the observation deck. Brody and Volker ready weapons but Rush says that it won’t be necessary, as they realize the approaching object is… another Ancient ship, similar to Destiny in size and appearance. Brody warns Young that they’re on a collision course, and Young tells them to prepare to open fire. However, Rush realizes that they’re going to dock with it, as the retros kick in and they slow and finally halt just within docking range.
Young assembles a party to go aboard, and asks Rush how he knew they were going to dock. Rush claims that it was an obvious deduction, and confirms that the two ships are exchanging information. The other seed ship experienced system failure, allowing them to catch up. The countdown hasn’t activated, and Young figures they have two hours before the ships go their separate ways. Rush wants to go over, but Young sends Brody and Volker instead and tells Rush to stay on board.
Telford asks Camille what’s going on. When he learns what Young has planned, Telford goes to confront Young.
Scott and his team go to the docking bay and enter the tunnel leading to the other ship. They board the seed ship and begin exploring. Meanwhile, Eli begins to analyze the data and is impressed with how much they could learn. Rush leaves and claims he’s going to the bathroom.
Chloe approaches Johansen and asks if she’s okay, and suggests she should talk to someone. Johansen insists that there’s nothing to talk about, and casually says that her baby is in a better place. When she tells Chloe she’ll check her leg wound, Chloe tells Johansen that it’s healed.
Rush goes to the ship’s bridge and consults the systems.Scott and his team move through the corridors, and Brody puts the kino in search mode.
Rush realizes that the information they have could provide a way home. When the vision of his dead wife, Gloria, wonders if he’s going to tell the others, Rush insists that they’ll figure it out on their own.
Scott’s team finds what appears to be a control room. Volker brings up the systems despite Young’s warning, noting they only have two hours.
Rush returns to the others, and claims he stopped off at the mess room. Telford asks to talk to Young privately, and complains that he’s being kept out of the loop. When Young objects, Telford warns that he’s been going it alone since the incursion, and the colonel offers his help. Young accepts and starts to share his information.
On board the other seed ship, the systems power up. Somewhere in a hold, a pod opens and something starts to emerge.
Varro asks for a meeting with Young. When the colonel comes in, Ginn offers her help based on her knowledge of Ancients technology, but Young immediately refuses. Varro asks how long Young plans to keep them locked up, and Young says he has no immediate plans. When Varro insists that he’s cooperated, Young notes that he had no choice. Simeon interrupts, insisting that they can’t spend the rest of their days as prisoners, and Young tells him he should have thought of that before they attacked, and then leaves. Simeon warns Varro that things went as he predicted.
Scott and Greer get bored and go to look around. Eli notices unusual power readings and Rush finally comes over to look at them.
Young comes to see Camille in Hydroponics, and notes that she told the prisoners about the seed ship. She insists that they need the intel, but Young warns that Homeworld Command doesn’t have to live with the consequences. He refuses to endanger his crew, but Camille warns that if he reneges on the deal, people on Earth will be harmed when the Lucian Alliance attacks Earth. Camille asks if he’s willing to take that chance, and then tells him that they’re planning a service for Sgt. Riley. Young agrees to say a few words.
As they explore the ship, Greer and Scott discuss the woman aboard the ship and who Greer has slept with. Eli and Rush call in Young and tell him that the seed ship has energy reserves, enough to power the Stargate and create a wormhole back to Earth. Rush claims he has to open power conduits directly and leaves for the seed ship. Eli prepares to open the airlock but is briefly distracted when they lose the kino feed. Scott greets Rush as he arrives on-board and says he has a surprise for him.
Brody goes to fix a malfunctioning conduit one floor up. Once he leaves, something approaches the control room behind Volker. Scott and Greer show Rush an automated Stargate manufacturing facility, that the seed ship drops. Rush is unimpressed and asks them to take him to the control room.
Volker finds himself face-to-face with an alien… which collapses.Johansen tends to Simeon’s injury and he grabs her, asking if she can play rough. She grabs his finger and threatens to dislocate it, and Simeon yields. Volker calls Scott and tells him what happened.
Johansen examines Varro’s wound, and he expresses his condolences about the seeming death of her baby. Varro talks about how his wife was killed in a building collapse, and how he was grief-stricken until he accepted that life was loss. Young calls Johansen to summon her to the seed ship. When she arrives, Young tells her that Scott has reported that the alien is alive but unresponsive. She insists on going, and Telford convinces Young to let him go as well.
In the control room, Johansen examines the alien. It revives when she touches it, and they’re unable to understand what it speaks. Telford suggests that Rush translate, but he points out this alien is different from the ones he met. He does tell them to lower their weapons, and once they do, the alien gets briefly to its feet but refuses to say anything. Scott offers it some food after showing it’s safe, and it tries it but then spits it out. Rush suggests they check and see if there are other aliens, and Telford orders a sweep.
Rush calls Eli and has him prepare the Destiny systems for the power transfer.
Telford, Scott and the others explore the seed ship. They split up, and Scott and Telford almost shoot each other when they meet up. Greer calls to tell them that he’s found more pods… all of which are empty.
Camille has everyone prepare to depart as they start the Stargate dialing procedure. Telford calls Young and tells him what they’ve discovered, and Young orders them all back to the ship. They figure it’s an exploration team that got stranded on the seed ship. Rush says that he has to stay here in case there’s an interruption with the power flow. He insists that the alien they have is docile, and Young sends reinforcements despite Rush’s objections, and then orders Johansen to bring the alien back with her.
Young goes to the Gateroom as Eli powers the Stargate. It starts up but then stops, and Eli confirms that the power transfer has been interrupted. Rush tells them that the power transfer isn’t going as planned. Dunning, the soldier with him, is stunned by an energy weapon.
As Destiny starts to shake, Eli discovers that the power transfer has been reversed. He tries to contact Rush, unaware that the aliens have stunned him and have control of the seed ship’s systems. Young tells Telford to go the control room and he heads back there with Scott and Greer, while Johansen and the scientists head back to Destiny.
Eli and Park tell Young that they’ll soon be out of power, and Young tells them to figure out a way to separate the two ships, and fast.
The alien with Johansen breaks away and escapes before they can stop it.
Scott and the others find Rush and Dunning, and Young tells them to get back before the ships separate. Telford refuses and says he needs to find a way to reestablish the transfer. Young reluctantly hands the radio over to Eli, and Telford tells him to guide him through the reversal process. As he starts, Telford tells Scott and Greer to get Rush and Dunning to safety despite the danger to himself. Once they’re gone, Eli walks Telford through the process. Park and Eli warn Young that they have less than 15 minutes.
The ship’s doors close behind Johansen’s party, as well as Scott and Greer. The two parties catch up and realize there’s no way back to the control room.
Park and Eli admit that they need Rush to severe them from the seed ship. Scott realizes that Rush has woke up and slipped away, and Young tells Scott to find him. Meanwhile, Eli tells Young that it’s all up to Telford, and they only have four minutes left. With time running out Telford, tells Young that he’s almost there. Eli has him override the power relay. However, before Telford can do it, the two ships separate. Eli has no idea what happened.
On the command bridge, Rush finishes activating the systems to separate the two ships. He admits to Gloria that he had no choice, but she wonders if he did it to save the crew, or his dream.
Young tells Telford what’s happening and apologizes. Telford tells Young to take crew of his people, and to take care of himself. Destiny goes into hyperspace. Telford realizes that they’ve left, and then discovers that the aliens have surrounded him.
Johansen brings some basic supplies to Varro and thanks him for helping save her after she was shot. He insists she doesn’t have to thank him, but Johansen insists that she did. Once she leaves, Simeon watches Varro. Eli sits alone in his quarters. Brody makes more moonshine and gives it to Young, who goes back to his cabin.
Greer and Camille go through Riley’s quarters and secure his belongings. In her quarters, Chloe contemplates her leg… now fully healed.Rush sits on the bridge, alone.
